Colours

None of the colours

are fast

the dyes in silks and cottons

not fxed

and India’s saffron

turquoise and vermillion

rub off on your hands

The camel drivers blanket

is imprinted on my thigh

intricate patterns

transferred with sweat

tattooed on my skin

India seeps

and stains my pores

like henna

and

clinging like a hawker

will not easily

be removed

Will I recognise you on wednesday? Now that you are saffron yellow and camel blanket coloured. Great picture.
